VTV1 News: ETEK shares its “formula” for joining the global supply chain
In the VTV1 Prime Time News broadcast on 16 August 2025, the role of Vietnam’s private sector and solutions for local enterprises to integrate into international supply chains were highlighted, featuring insights from Mr. Nguyễn Trọng Thưởng – CEO of ETEK Automation Solutions JSC.

Building internal strength and an ecosystem are keys

The news referred to Resolution No. 68 (issued on 4 May 2025), which underlines the contribution of more than 940,000 private enterprises that currently account for around 50% of GDP, 30% of state budget revenue, and 82% of national employment. However, most private enterprises remain small and medium-sized, with limited financial capacity and competitiveness.

In his remarks, CEO Nguyễn Trọng Thưởng stressed that for Vietnamese companies to take part in global supply chains, the most crucial factor is building internal strength: a solid management system, compliance with international quality and delivery standards, and the ability to think and act on a global level. Enterprises should start with small tasks, perform them well, and build trust step by step before being entrusted with larger projects. Equally important is accompanying clients and partners, developing a collaborative ecosystem to complement each other’s strengths.

“No single business can invest in everything on its own. At ETEK, we focus on our core strengths while building partnerships with like-minded companies that share our culture and values, so that we can grow together.”
– Nguyễn Trọng Thưởng, CEO of ETEK

Echoing this view, Mr. Lê Đoàn Tám – Chairman of Pacific Shipbuilding JSC – emphasised that today’s small enterprises will be tomorrow’s large corporations. Therefore, large businesses play a pivotal role in pulling along medium, small, and micro-enterprises to ensure succession and sustainable growth across the private sector.

Policy support and human aspirations

The broadcast highlighted ETEK as one of the exemplary private companies that has gradually overcome challenges to join industrial supply chains. Through consistent steps and a well-defined partnership strategy, ETEK is proving itself as a pioneering Vietnamese automation enterprise, ready to accompany clients and partners in global integration.

Resolution 68 and its support mechanisms, such as tax incentives, are expected to create favourable conditions for private companies, including ETEK, to grow more strongly. Yet, according to CEO Nguyễn Trọng Thưởng, the decisive factor still lies in national strategy, corporate branding, and above all, people.

“People must have aspirations to rise, to learn, to change, and to continuously improve. Only then can we truly develop technology and acquire the capacity to achieve major goals,” he underlined.
From a policy perspective, Mr. Phạm Văn Quân – Deputy Director of the Industry Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade – noted that Resolutions 57 and 68 have removed many institutional barriers. A key change is the State’s new approach, treating budget support for private companies as “venture investment”: ready to support innovation, accept risks, and avoid criminalising legitimate business activities.

Meanwhile, Mr. Đậu Anh Tuấn – Head of the Legal Department of VCCI – stressed the importance of localisation priorities and trust from the State. These are essential foundations for entrusting private enterprises with key national projects.
