ETEK - Effective Goal Setting and Planning Control in a New Phase of Development
In an environment where businesses must continuously adapt to market fluctuations, workforce dynamics, and rapid growth, goal setting and planning control have become core management capabilities. At ETEK, goals are not merely numerical targets, but serve as a guiding compass for the entire operating system—from long-term strategy to daily execution.

Goal Setting at ETEK: From Strategy to Execution

ETEK builds its goals through a structured and systematic approach, ensuring that all objectives are closely aligned with the company’s overall strategy and its actual organizational capabilities. Goals are established in a fully connected manner across the company – department – individual levels, enabling the entire team to move in the same direction and avoiding fragmented execution.

In a recent thematic sharing session, Mr. Nguyen Trong Thuong – CEO of ETEK Automation clearly outlined ETEK’s approach to goal setting through five core steps, designed to ensure consistency and feasibility in implementation.

First, ETEK confirms its strategic objectives based on the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), ensuring balance across financial performance, market and customer focus, operational efficiency, and people development. Based on this foundation, the company develops a Master Map – a comprehensive goal map, which clarifies the interconnections among objectives and identifies strategic priorities.

From the Master Map, goals are clearly cascaded to departments and individuals, with defined responsibilities and proactive participation across organizational levels. In parallel, ETEK establishes KPIs and corresponding budgets (Budgeting) for each objective, ensuring that goals are not only strategically sound but also feasible in terms of resources.

Finally, goals are approved and communicated consistently across the organization, aligning shared understanding and transforming objectives into daily guiding principles for action.

ETEK’s Development Orientation for the 2025–2030 Period

Alongside the goal-setting framework, Mr. Nguyen Trong Thuong also shared ETEK’s development orientation for the 2025–2030 period. During this phase, ETEK sets goals that are sufficiently ambitious and challenging—not only to drive scale growth, but also to foster sustainable development and strengthen management capabilities.

Strategic goals during this period play a critical role in generating long-term motivation for the team, while serving as a foundation for operational standardization and overall performance enhancement.

Planning Control Through an Integrated Management System

A key highlight of ETEK’s approach is the close integration of goals with an integrated planning and reporting management system. By standardizing data and monitoring progress on a regular basis, leadership and management teams are able to promptly grasp implementation status, identify risks, and proactively adjust plans.

As a result, planning control is no longer a passive, end-of-cycle activity, but becomes a continuous and integral part of daily operations.

Goals – The Foundation for Performance and Sustainable Growth

For ETEK, goals are not merely destinations, but essential management tools that enhance performance, motivate teams, and foster a proactive working culture. When goals are properly defined, tightly controlled, and aligned with appropriate resources, each step of the organization’s journey becomes clearer and more sustainable in this new phase of development.
